Farewell to a man that lived the life he sang about in his song. To the Cameron family, prayers be with you. A favorite song Minister Cameron always sang had words that said Jesus "can bring you love, He can bring you joy, can turn your life around and pick you up when you fall down." That was Bro. James' Jesus and that same Jesus is with you even now. May you experience God's comfort!

We are truly sadden and share the loss of a long time family friend. Losing a loved one is difficult and our hearts grieve. Yet his soul have departed this earthly existence because his earthly work of life is done, the cords that binds the human flesh have been cut that his spirt may sail onto smoother seas.
Peace and blessings to the James R. Cameron family.

I'm so sorry for the loss of Mr Cameron he was such a sweet person I remember him singing with my High School chorus with Mr. Fleming. He sang "Jesus is Love" from Lionel Richie and the Commodores. My birthday was yesterday October 19th I turn 53 years old. I graduated in 1981. I have been thinking about Mr. Camera on and off all these years every time I hear that song on Sirius XM Praise! I'm praying for the families comfort during this season of grief. My mother, Veronica C (Flemmon) Blair was his co-worker. She retired after 37 years and she passed April 2016. HEAVEN HAS RECEIVED 2 MORE ANGELES!!!!

Mr. Cameron treated me like a son. He pushed me academically while in school and challenged me to be a better person. He allowed me to see who he was beyond a teacher and letting me into his family and allowing me to vacation with him in Kentucky where I met his amazing son Clarence and his lovely wife Faye. My wife and I also had the pleasure to hear him sing many times at First Baptist Roosevelt where we were always embraced by the congregation and he also sing at mine and April's wedding. Most knew him as James but I knew him as Ralph and for that I thank you because You never gave up on me. Thank you for all you did and I love you. We will meet again.

My heart is saddened and I've found myself speechless, thinking back on all you've taught me in singing, music, and ministry. You helped to develop my gift and gave me room to grow. I will miss you greatly Dear James. I am ever so thankful of the immeasurable impact you have made upon my life. The songs you have taught me will be forever singing in my spirit. I hear your voice so clearly singing "Jesus is Love" and "It's in Jesus." I can only imagine... you singing praises to God even now. Oh what joy you must be experiencing in the presence of the Father!!! My spirit takes comfort and is made joyful in that you are now at home with the Father. May God's comfort, strength, and love continue to surround and keep your family.
Love,
Lesa

To the family of Bro . James Cameron: I can attest to the fact that he was a great musician and a dedicated man of God. He was patient and kind. He served from time to time as a musician for Bethel AME Church (Rosedale) Homewood, Alabama under the pastorate of the late Roosevelt Grier. Our prayers are with the family. May God provide peace as only He can.
