Betty L. Miller 1929 - 2016
LINCOLN, IL - Betty L. Miller, 87, passed from this life at The Christian Village on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016.
She was born Feb. 8, 1929, in Lincoln, the daughter of Raymond and Flossie (Ogilvie) Rodgers. She married Richard W. Miller on Sept. 25, 1947, in Lincoln. He survives.
Betty was a loving aunt to Sherry Margrave, Rebbecca Jones and David Rodgers of Arizona, Dana Rodgers of Canada, and Amy (Nathan) Chen and family: Ashley, Kinsley, and Gregory Chen of Tennessee.
Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Lois Rodgers, of Arizona; a great-niece, Shanda Turner, and son, Isaac, of Washington, and great-niece, Leslie Cook of Arizona. She also leaves behind many friends who will greatly miss her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers: Lewis, Henry, and Lester Rodgers.
She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
Betty retired from O'Bear Nester bottle factory where she worked as a quality control inspector and shop steward. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, cooking, and playing Pinochle.
We would like to thank The Christian Village for their love and care given to Betty and Richard the past two years.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Blaum and Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with burial to follow at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.
Memorials may be made to: The Christian Village, or the donor's choice.
