Sydney Weakley, age 21, was born on August 10, 1995, in Fresno, CA, and was tragically killed in a car accident on New Year's Day, 2017. She was a graduate of Bullard High School, class of 2013, and attended California State University, Fresno. Her love of gymnastics led her to Gymnastics Beat where she was a student and later a teacher of young children. She had hopes of one day being a mother herself. She was employed at Payless Shoe Source as Assistant Manager of the Riverpark store. She also did part time work for Ulta Beauty and had recently started driving for Uber. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Wayne Weakley. Sydney leaves behind a large, loving family, mother, Melanie Dadian Weakley; father and step-mother, Steven and Anna Weakley; fiance, Michael Martinez; sisters, Cassidy Weakley, and Rachelle Jackson; grandparents, Chuck and Anna Dadian, Farrell Weakley, Wes and Judy Fitzgerald, and Marlene Wagner; and a host of loving cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family, and many friends. A Viewing will be held at Farewell Funeral Service Chapel on Thursday, January 12, 2017, at 5:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at The Well Community Church, Fig Garden Campus, on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sydney's name to YouCaring.com.

To Sydney's family, I pray for God's peace and love as you are now "walking a new path" in life without her. You know the moment Sydney "went home" she was in Jesus' arms. Even though you deeply feel her loss, God also gives you a peace that only comes from having Jesus as your Savior. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you

To Sydney's family, my deepest sympathies and prayers are with you all. While I didn't know Sydney well, I had recently seen her in Payless and we chatted about earlier years where we had first met at Gymnastics Beat. Melanie and I enjoyed chatting about life and kids while our kids enjoyed classes. I remember both Sydney and Cassidy being sweet girls and were especially kind to my younger kids. My heart truly breaks for the loss of things Sydney will never get to experience and the joy she brought to you all.
