Alfred David "A.D." Dorman GALIVANTS FERRY - Mr. Alfred David "A.D." Dorman, age 81, of Hwy. 1115, passed away January 10, 2017, at his residence with his loving family by his side. Mr. Dorman was born September 14, 1935, a son of the late Austin M. Dorman and Clyde Tompkins Dorman. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and served in the United States Navy. A.D. worked many years in the restaurant management business, enjoyed working beside his father-in-law, grinding grits and corn meal. Mr. Dorman loved farming, family, food, the mountains, and southern gospel music. He was predeceased by five brothers and two sisters. In addition to his loving wife, Mrs. Hilda G. Dorman of the home, Mr. Dorman is survived by one son, David Dorman (Annette) of Galivants Ferry, SC, one daughter, Shuana Todd (Joseph) of Chapin, SC, five grandchildren, Andrew Dorman (Jen), Devin Dorman (Ashley), Adrian Rossi (Erik), all of Galivants Ferry, Zachary Todd (Katie) of Greenville, SC, Jonathan Todd of Chapin, SC, one great-grandchild, Alex Rossi of Galivants Ferry, and three sisters, Annie Ruth Lewis, Mamie Johnson, both of Conway, SC, and Jeanette Leaphart of Columbia, SC. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Aynor from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday January 13, 2017. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday January 14, 2017, at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dean Connor and Rev. Gordon Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorials can be made in Mr. Dorman's memory to Antioch Baptist Church, 2080 Hwy. 129 Galivants Ferry, SC 29544. Sign an online guestbook at www.johnsonfuneralhomeofaynor.com.
