Edwin E. "Eddie" Magin, 76, of Westminster passed away on Wednesday evening, January 11, 2017 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born August 9, 1940 in Taylorsville, he was the son of the late Francis "Buck" and Marie Smith Magin. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Osterhus Magin, his wife of 51 years. Eddie was a graduate of Mt. Airy High School, class of 1959. In 1964 he began working for Sweetheart Cup in the dye/ink room until his retirement in 2002. Eddie enjoyed farming and volunteered at the Carroll County Farm Museum where he represented his family exhibit at the Worm Seed Display. He liked to garden, and in particular was fond of the flowers he grew. Above all he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Carrollton Church of God and formerly served on the church council. Surviving in addition to his wife is daughter and son-in-law Dodie and Michael Magin-Amonick of Westminster; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Magin of Olney , sister, Linda Rill of Westminster; grandchildren David and Daniel Amonick, Mary Beth, Paul, and Christine Magin. He was predeceased by his son Robert Eugene Magin in 2010. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Pritts Funeral Home and Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Carrollton Church of God, 2151 Bethel Rd., Finksburg, with his pastor, Rev. Dave Meador officiating. Interment will be in Carrollton Church of God Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Carrollton Church of God. Online condolences may be made at www.prittsfunaralhome.com

Cousin Eddie was one of the good guys. I didn't know you as well as I'd like as we were 1/2 a country apart but enjoyed our occasional phone visits. I knew you enough to know you were a good man with a big heart and a caring spirit. Rest in peace buddy.

Ed was a great classmate,he attended many of our Monday evening class dinners,Ed shared with us many pictures of the lovely flowers he raised.He explained and showed us pictures and shared how the worm seed farm was started and is now displayed at the Carroll county Farm Museum.He will be missed.
