GLOUCESTER - Barbara Ann Elie, 74, passed away January 11, 2017. She was born in Norwich, CT on February 2, 1942 to Joseph and Jennie Ladyga. Barbara was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Gloucester. She had been a member of St. Mary's Association and St. Josephs. Barbara was a friend to everyone she met and was always kind. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Lawrence C. Elie. She is survived by her daughters, Debrah Elie Knarr and husband, Gary and Christine Elie Spiker; grandchildren, Brandon Knarr, Brittany Knarr, Bradley Spiker and Brooke Spiker; great-grandchildren, Brandon Knarr, Jr., Bryce Knarr, Alexis Knarr, Troy Ledford and to be born Mason Alberstadts; and brother, Joseph Ladyga and wife, Noreen. Funeral Mass officiated by Reverend James Cowles will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 at St. Therese Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 4 until 6 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. In memory of Barbara memorial donations may be given to the American Diabetes Association, 870 Greenbriar Circle, Greenbriar Tower II, Suite 404, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
