Gloria Jean Newman, age 76 of Elgin, IL passed away February 10, 2017 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, IL.
She was born September 5, 1940 in Sycamore, IL. to her loving parents, George and Dorothy (nee Patterson) Holland.
Gloria graduated from Sycamore High School, Class of 1959. She was married to her high school sweetheart for 25 years, and together raised their daughter, Jacqueline. Gloria went on to work as a K-Mart Jewelry Manager at the Elgin store for many years. Loved ones will remember Gloria's generous heart and passion for volunteering. She loved to help others whenever she could. In her free time, she enjoyed reading.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Newman of Guymon, Oklahoma; siblings, George (Jan) Holland of Sycamore, IL, Gary (Judy) Holland of Mendota IL and Gail Holland of Chandler, AZ; grandson, Jack (Kalyn) Newman Erickson; great-grandson, Scout Jackson Erickson; and many nieces and nephews.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, two sons and two nephews.
Services and interment will be private.
