Amy Abend Obituary

Amy Abend, 55, of Syracuse, went to be with the Lord suddenly and unexpectedly on February 16, 2018. She will be greatly missed by all.
She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, the daughter of the late Raymond and Teresa Schattle. She attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Arlington High School. She then obtained a 4 year degree from Oswego State College majoring in Human Resources and Economics.
Amy's most cherished roles were as a loving wife, mother and teacher. The role she valued most of all was being a mother. She shined brightly for her children. They were the most important aspect of her life after her relationship with the Lord. Amy found much joy in creating a beautiful home along with many other creative endeavors. Amy attended Faith Chapel Church as a faithful founding member, and also attended bible studies along with other numerous roles in church life. She worked as a teacher's aide at Westhill High School where she cared very deeply for the students in her care and the faculty.
Amy is survived by Bruce, her husband of 32 years; their son, Zachary; their daughters, Faith and Grace; and her brother, Mark Schattle.
Family and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 24 at Faith Chapel, 4113 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in Faith Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
