Bernice Rae Plante
Franklin Township, PA - Bernice Rae Plante, 80, of Franklin Township, Bradford County, PA formerly of Ely Park Blvd., Binghamton, NY, passed away in her sleep, Wednesday, February 21, 2017 at her home. Bernice was born in Kirkwood, NY on January 19, 1938 the daughter of the late Kenneth Clyde Griffin and Beatrice Elizabeth Carroll Griffin. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Walter Maher Plante, son and daughter-in-law, Manley Romaine and Robin Lynn VanValkenburg Jr., son, Jesse Clyde VanValkenburg, son and daughter-in-law, Avery Scott and Sylvia Anne VanValkenburg, daughter and son-in-law, Tammy Rae and Thomas Edward Chastain, son, Michael Jay VanValkenburg, daughter, Tonya Carmen VanValkenburg Johnson, closest and dearest friends, Carol and Jack Mansfield, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a great First Presbyterian Church of Endicott family where Bernice was a member for many years.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 29 Grant Ave. Endicott, NY with Rev. Jan Devine officiating. Interment will follow in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home 217 York Ave. Towanda, PA.
