Huston Jones Obituary

PROTECTION - Huston Warren Jones was born on October 23rd, 1940 at his Grandpa's tire shop in Liberal, Kansas. He left us on September 6, 2018 at his residence in Protection Valley Manor. He was born to Ira Bell Jones and Ruby Mae Brooks and was raised in Liberal and resided in various places over the years, including California. Huston was the eldest brother to Ira Dean, Eddie Dale, Maybell, Delmer Leon, Darvin Dewayne, David Lynn and Danny Joe. He was preceded in death by his Parents, his brothers, Eddie, Delmer, Dean "Shorty", Danny and his infant daughter, Cathy Ann.
He is survived by his children: David Huston Jones, Ellsworth, Larry Dewayne Jones, Shawnee County, Stacie Dianne Jones, Manhattan, Michael Christopher Jones, Protection, 8 Grandchildren; Kristen, Brandon, Zach, Joseph, Deborah, Machelle, Hayden and Vincent; 9 Great-Grandchildren; a sister, Maybell Ingland and husband Richard, Wilroads Garden, 2 brothers, Darvin Jones and wife Mary, Urbana, Iowa and David Jones and wife Monica, San Luis Obispo, California, and loving nieces and nephews.
Huston worked as a taxi driver, at various jobs at National Beef Packing in Liberal, but being the full time caregiver for his son Chris after his accident in 1988, was the most important job in his lifetime.
He loved to read, drink coffee, eat, play dominoes (he could tell you what dominoes you had in your hand or what you were going to play without ever cheating-he was taught by one of the best-his Daddy), and anything Harlely Davidson. He and Chris would go garage saleing and they loved to collect motorcycle memorabilia. He also loved spending time on the beaches in California, some more than others.
His family was very dear to him and he cared for all of them, biological and extended. Huston was a very sharing person, he shared with everyone, all he had and what you had, whether you wanted to share or not, especially when it came to food or drink, knowing this was an antagonist move that might bring him harm.
Huston was a straight forward man, he didn't put on any false facades-with his feelings or appearance-what you saw, was what you got, plain and simple. Those that are close to him would probably testify that he was born without a filter system, but he was so full of humor and love. He loved to torment and tease, that's how you knew he loved you.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the Wilroads Garden Christian Church, Dodge City, with Pastor Jason Goetz officiating. There will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register Wednesday from noon to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Protection Valley Manor in care of Ziegler Funeral Chapel, 1901 N. 14th Ave, Dodge City, Kansas 67801. Condolences may be sent to www.zieglerfuneralchapel.com.
