Nichole Desiree Sax (Dodge), born November 12, 1983 in Eustis Florida, succumbed to complications of a brain aneurysm on October 14, 2018 at UMASS Memorial Hospital in Worcester, MA.
Nichole leaves behind her mother Shawn Diemand of Titusville, Florida and father Daniel Webster Dodge, II of Shutesbury, MA, as well as a fiancé Brandon Sax of Gloucester, MA. She is survived by her sisters; Danielle Dodge of Colrain, MA, Danna Dodge of Cocoa, Fla., Holli Dodge of Orange, MA, Carrie Thibault of Ira ,VT and Danielle Haskell of Shelburne Falls, MA. She also leaves behind aunts, uncles, as well as nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Nichole chose several careers during her adult years, the first as a cook which remained one of her greatest passions. Nikki then went on to pursue a career using her God given gift of compassion, to become a home health aide, where she cared for the disabled as well as the terminally ill.
Despite a negative prognosis at a young age to accomplish basic life milestones, Nikki's free spirit and tenacious will led her to becoming a graduate of Astronaut High School in Titusville, Florida.
While she was never able to conceive children of her own, she was the consummate Big sister and mother hen-lavishing her sisters along with her nieces and nephews, with a protectoral maternal devotion like no other. Her willingness to see the best in people and to help anyone in need never wavered and she sacrificed often to help those she saw as less fortunate than herself.
Nichole enjoyed music and dance and was an avid animal lover and advocated for the rights and better treatment of animals.
Though her time on earth was short, the love, laughter and light she brought to her mother, sisters, family and all those that knew her will fill our hearts and continue to flood our memories. There are no words to express how much she will be missed or how brightly she did and will continue to shine.
In keeping up with Nichole's wishes, she will be cremated. A gathering in her memory will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1 to 6pm at St. Kaz in Turners Falls, MA.
