Albert Miller Obituary

Albert D. Miller of Chesapeake, VA died May 2, 2021 at his home in Chesapeake, VA. He was born August 30, 1936 in Dawson, PA. He joined the United Sates Navy at 17 and served his country in the Vietnam War as a boiler mechanic. After retiring in 1972 he worked for 20 years as a mechanic with Virginia Power. He retired from Virginia Power to take care of his eldest son, Bruce K. Miller who died in 1993. During his retirement he enjoyed camping with his wife, Elaine Miller, with the S.M.A.R.T. camping group, for whom he is a past president. He is also a former member of the Southside Lions Club where he was a Lion of the Year, and South Norfolk Ruritan Club. He was married to Elaine Miller in 1960 until she died in April 2015.

He is survived by his son, Brian K. Miller, daughter-in-law, Jody L. Miller, and grand-daughter, Reed E. Miller, all of Chesapeake, VA.

His ashes will be interned at Girard Manor Cemetery in Schuylkill County, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel is assisting the family. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
