NAZARETH Franklin "Frankie" H. Werkheiser, Sr., 84, of Nazareth, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. He was the loving husband of Laura (Garren) Werkheiser for 64 years. Frankie was born on November 12, 1936, in Nazareth. He was the son of the late Nevin S. Werkheiser and Nettie M. (Bender) Werkheiser. Frankie graduated from Nazareth Area High School Class of 1955. He served 43 years as an Assistant Foreman for Martin Guitar & Co., of Nazareth. Frankie was a faithful member of St. John's U.C.C., of Nazareth. He will be remembered for his patience and friendliness. Frankie always had a smile on his face. He loved to be outdoors, whether it was hunting, fly-fishing in Canada, or birdwatching. He loved sharing his appreciation of nature with his kids and teaching them how to enjoy the outdoors. He was an avid Eagles, Phillies, and 76ers fan. Frankie was a devoted and loving husband and father. In addition to his wife, Frankie will be deeply missed by children, Franklin Werkheiser, Jr. and his wife Joan, of Lower Nazareth Twp., Cynthia Dull, of Bangor, Annette Werkheiser and her partner Frank, of Lower Towamensing, Robert Werkheiser and his wife Kim, of Philipsburg, NJ, and Rhonda Kummer and her partner, Gwen, of Nazareth; 21 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren, and 1 Great-great-granddaughter; siblings, Darlene Faschings and her husband Richard, of Easton, Paul Werkheiser and his wife Malrose, of Nazareth, and Mabel W. Rapp, of Philipsburg, NJ. He was pre-deceased by siblings, Mae Savercool, Kathryn Schmidt, Richard C. Werkheiser Sr., Nevin Werkheiser, Gertrude Atherholt and Gladys Werkheiser. Family and friends of Frankie are invited to a visitation on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Joseph F. Reichel Funeral Home Inc., 220 Washington Park, Nazareth, PA 18064. A Prayer Service will follow at 11:00 AM presided by Pastor Curtis Kemmerer at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, of Nazareth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frankie's memory to "Family Pillars Hospice" and mailed to: 3910 Adler Place Ste. 130 Bethlehem PA 18017.
