It was with much sorrow that I read today in the Church News about the passing of President Beecroft. My thoughts go back 44 years when I first met him in Chile. He was a bear of a man with twinkling eyes and wide smile who would wrap his arms around you in a big "abrazo" every time we met. He loved the missionaries and the Chilean people. I worked with him as a counselor in the mission presidency for 8 months and traveled with him all over the country. It was a delight to hear him speak to the members in his rather ungrammatical Spanish. His love and enthusiasm for the Church was conveyed by both word and the Spirit. How the members loved him. I cherished the car rides in the mission station wagon and moments that we spent together in the mission home talking about the missionaries and the challenges facing the Church at that time. As I bore my testimony just prior to leaving the mission field, I remember expressing my love for him and stating that he was like a father that I never had. He was a great man, and has now gone to a just reward. Hasta la vista, Stuart Candland

Dear Aunt Mona & Aunt Kate, Traci, Jamie, and family-
Thank you for all you've done for Beeky, and for making his last months and days on this earth so warm and positive. He was so blessed to live in your home, Traci, where I know he was loved. I'm so happy he's with Nana again, and can finally run again. I will never forget the words you spoke, Jamie, at dedication of his grave, and the emotion you had as you spoke of this great man. I sure did love him. Love you all- Lisa

Beeky,
The word "legacy" keeps coming to my mind as I am grateful for you and the life you have lived. I love you! I also have fond memories of your home in Salt Lake City, ceramics, smiles, stories, camping trips, and just holding your hand. I feel so blessed to have personally known and been related to such a great man.

I am so happy for the wonderful family I am from and for the family roots that are grounded in good gospel soil. May I always live righteously that I may follow after my loved ones who have lived a wonderful life, like my Beeky!!

Dear Beeky!
I love you and Nana so much, I'm so proud to be your great grand son. You leave a legacy of faithful living, dedicated to the gospel. I also know that it is my turn to pick up the family history books and start doing my part picking up where you left off. With Grandma Rita, and you leaving us with in a few days of each other, I hope I can make you proud by continuing your effrots. I will miss the times we spent together camping, visiting your home and painting ceramics with Nana and hearing the stories at family reunions.
Love you Lots,
Debi (Beecroft) Lassen

Dear Mona, Katy, and Patrick,
We so loved your mom and dad, and as sad as losing a loved one is, we just think it is wonderful that your mother and father are together again for Christmas. They blessed my life so much when I was living across the street from them on Dallas St. before I got married in 4/06. I will always remember them with so much love. They were like parents to me, and I always looked forward to running across the street to visit and have "story time." We fondly remember your dad taking my granddaughter Brooklyn for a ride down the street on his "cool" wheelchair. May the Lord bless each one of you this Christmas and always. Thank you for sharing your parents with me.
Much love, Glenn and Nancy Schern Smith 480-844-9388

Dear Dad,
How I always loved and respected you with all my heart. So often I am reminded of the good advice and love that you shared with me in difficult times. You were and will continue to be an everlasting good and excellent example to me. You endured to the end and the Lord must have been overjoyed to see you again, as Helen Mae and Carl. I am comforted in that I know you are happy and at peace.
Love from your daughter-in-law,
