i was reading of yours and Eve Carsons death and i remember hearing of Eve's because i am from N.C. and it is such a tragedy that 2 beautiful young ladies with so much ahead of themselves had to be taken from us with such violience and at all. Sorry to hear this horrible news, even though i go to University of Alabama we also just had a death atour school to a girl that sounds like Lauren (a responsible great person) I came down here from the north to goto school, I hope they get the person that did this horrible crime to a great person it sounded like. my prayers are with you and your family.

I just found out about this. I am so so sorry for your loss. I can only remember Lauren as a young girl and my Griffin as a baby lying in her box of beanie babies at Vivian's halloween party about 10 years ago. I share in your grief, even at this late date. God be with you all.

I went to summer camp with Lauren. She was a great girl. Although it was quite a few years ago Lauren and her personality stayed with me. I am close to four years younger than her but she was still so nice to me. I was extremely sad to hear of her death. My deepest sympathy.

Mark Turcot just emailed about what happened. As look at Lauren's picture and read her story I am so sorry I did not know her. She seems to have so much of you in her. You have every reason to be proud of her. As I remember how much Monte's death hurt, and then look at my own children, I cannot imagine your pain. I went to graduate school, changed careers and now teach high school. Today, I showed my students Lauren's picture from the web and encouraged them to value life and be safe. I live in New York, and received an e mail from Hillel today regarding the tragic death of your beautiful and precious daughter, Lauren.
I have 3 teenage children, one of which is a beautiful 18 year old like your daughter, Lauren. My heart aches for your family at this incredibly difficult time.
I pray that time will heal your wounds, and that Lauren's memory will ease your pain. A tragedy such as this has no meaning...God was short of angels and called upon your daughter.

Dear Jim - Words can not express how much I ache for you, Vivian, Chad, Jaklyn, your entire family, and those lives who have been touched by Lauren. I think of all of you every day and send you thoughts of strength and courage during such a difficult time. I remember Lauren in my own experience of her as a 12 year old shy little girl who came out f her shell after we brought her shopping in Venice Beach, CA. at Bobby's daughter's Bat Mitzvah. She was truly beautiful and really blossomed into a incredible young woman. I am so sorry for your tragic loss. Maybe as Christianne said, something will come to you to give back to help other young men & women at Universities around the world. I hope in your own time an idea will blossom take this tragedy

I am very sorry for your tragic loss. Lauren was a lovely young lady with so much to offer the world. I know the sorrow and anguish your family is going through after losing such a cherished young family member. I lost my brother to a hiking accident when he was only 21. I saw where you told the Carsons how it hurts so much that you can't breath. The hurt is so deep.
Lauren is in God's loving arms, now. He is there for you too. God didn't "plan" the evil, but He does bestow love and comfort to you and Lauren. Use His strength to get through these difficult times.

I am heart broken for you. My baby brother of 50 yrs was just buried a few days. My mother has buried her husband (my dad), her daughter, and now my brother. All that is left is her and me. I graduated from Auburn in 1977 and I always thought senseless things like this happened somewhere else. My brother, Jeff Lindsey, (do a google search of his name in Huntsville, AL) 'touched' a lot of people and always wanted to make them happy. Lauren and Jeff will be missed, but are at peace in a much better place. Those of us left 'behind' are the ones that must use our individual tragedy to comfort those that will eventually loose a loved one. Lauren and my brother are already laughing together about how silly it is that we fret over the 'small stuff' and are not focused on loving and serving others.

Dear Burks, Just to say my thoughts and prayers are with you. My 16 year old died almost 13 years ago, and honestly it still hurts, but over the years that grief has changed and has probably enriched my life. There is a local support group which I think enabled me to continue this life and feel like it still has meaning. I have the deepest sympathy towards the Burk family. As a member of the Auburn community, i know we feel like we have lost a member of our family too. I didn't know Lauren but she was in Delta Gamma with my sister. This death was a shock to everyone, i never thought in my whole 16 years of living in Auburn that anything like this would ever happen.
