Oliver W. Oleniuk

TOWN of TYRE < Oliver W. Oleniuk, 74, of 1325 Shawn Drive, passed away Friday morning, Aug. 22, 2008 at the House of John in Clifton Springs. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, the son of Alexander and Olive Yeates Oleniuk, Mr. Oleniuk worked for the Canadian National Railways for 15 years prior to moving to Syracuse. He was then employed by Red Star Trucking as a Freight Rate technician for 32 years, retiring in 2004. Following retirement he became a school bus driver for the Seneca Falls School System and also drove for the Head Start Program. Oliver and his wife, Norma Wallace Oleniuk were married on Jan. 3, 1959. Surviving besides his wife Norma, are four children: Cheryl (Brian) VanMierlo, of Brockville, Ontario, Patricia (Christian) Riegle, of Victor, Michael (Carol) Oleniuk, of DeRuyter and Peter Oleniuk, of Seneca Falls; a sister, Elaine (Bruce) Robinson, of Smithville, Ontario; three brothers, Donald (Norma) Oleniuk, of Sarnia, Ontario, David (Diane) Oleniuk, of St. Catharines, Ontario, and Ronald (Judy) Oleniuk, of Fonthill, Ontario; and 10 grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Eva; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, George Oleniuk. Family and friends may call noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home Inc., 32 State St., Seneca Falls. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., at the funeral home, with Elders Roy Terry and Bill Perkins of the Wetzel Road Church of Christ in Liverpool, officiating.
