Mary Kilmer Obituary

AUBURN < Mary M. Kilmer, 82, of Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of 4 Sherman St., Auburn, passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Auburn Memorial Hospital. Born in Auburn, she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Ruane O#"Hora. She was a graduate of Central High School and Cayuga Onondaga BOCES where she earned her nursing degree. She was employed at Community General Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 1989. Mary was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a former Girl Scout leader, an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Sharon Kilmer, Linda Clarkson and Raymond, Jr. and his wife Laura, all of Auburn; seven grandchildren, Douglas Clarkson II, James Kilmer, Jeffery (Michele) Clarkson, Raymond (Jennifer) Kilmer III, Chad Kilmer, Shane Wilkinson, and Ashley Kilmer; eight great-grandchildren, Douglas III, Jacob, Justin, Marissa, Tyler, Miranda, Harrison and Elizabeth; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her former husband and best friend, Raymond W. Kilmer, Sr. of Auburn. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her son Mark Kilmer and by her brothers and sisters, Ethel Soloway, Florence O#"Brien, Shirley Whirtley, Edward, Fred and Paul O#"Brien and Michael O"Hora. Visiting hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, at Langham Funeral Home, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. Family prayers will be 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph#"s Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions in Mary"s memory to Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes, 134 E. Genesee St., Auburn.
