John Volsko Obituary

CAMILLUS < John Volsko, 87, of Camillus, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at Crouse Hospital. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he attended Porter School. John was employed by Crucible Steel Corp. He worked in CCC camps. He was a former communicant of St. Stephen"s Church and former member of the Pastime Club. An avid bowler and golfer, he was a member of the Camillus Country Club. He was a loving grandpa and great-grandpa. John was predeceased by his wife, the former Helen Leschak; brothers, Stephen and Michael Volsko; and sisters, Margaret Rolince and Helen Mitchell. Surviving are his daughter, Elaine (Tom) Barnes of Skaneateles; sisters, Mary Slowinski, Ann Volsko and Irene Olcott, all of Camillus; grandchildren, Thomas (Tracie) Barnes of Marcellus, Christopher and Matthew Barnes, both of Camillus; great-grandchildren, Channa and Emmett Barnes of Marcellus, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family wishes to thank the Third Floor staff at St. Camillus for their loving care of John. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Friends may call preceding the funeral from 9 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, St. Mary"s Cemetery, DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Camillus Foundation, 813 Fay Rd., Syracuse, NY 13219.
