Albert Bittel Obituary

VICTORY < Albert Donald Bittel, 82, of Ira Station Road, Victory, died on Friday, Sept. 26, at Auburn Memorial Hospital. He was born in Liverpool on July, 21, 1926, the son of Albert Sr. and Anna Scharmach Bittel. Mr. Bittel proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired as a welder for Carrier Corp. after 32 years of service. He was also employed as a school bus driver for the Hannibal School District. Albert was a member of the Armour of Light Victory Baptist Church, the Montezuma Post of the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mrs. Ellsie Jewell Bittel; his daughters, Judy Woznicki, of Ontario, Karen (Edward) Edick, of Farmington, Sondra (Joseph) Chillemi, of Oswego, and his foster daughter, Mary (Daniel) O"Connor, of Meridian; his son, Donald Bittel, of Cato; sister, Margaret (Richard) Bandy, of Liverpool; brother, Richard (Evelyn), of Liverpool and 16 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Services for Mr. Bittel will be held Tuesday, Sept. 30, at noon at the White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport. Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Donations may be made in memory of Mr. Albert Bittel to CIMVAC, Cato, NY, 13033.
