Dorothea Weber Obituary

OWASCO < Dorothea S. Weber, 88, of state Route 38A, Owasco, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007, at her daughter"s residence. She was born in Staten Island, the daughter of the late Harry and Martha Smith Slack and resided in the Owasco and Auburn area for most of her life. Mrs. Weber attended Syracuse University, where she earned a bachelor"s degree in Home Economics. She was employed by the National Bank of Auburn for many years as head teller and was a member of the SS. Peter & John Episcopal Church in Auburn; where she was a long-time choir member. Mrs. Weber was a substitute teacher at many of the area schools and enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and baking. Her other love in life was her children and grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters, Lois Collier and her husband, Edward, of Owasco, and Lorraine Fox and her husband, Keith, of Auburn; two grandchildren, Jennifer Collier and her husband, Keith Stockbridge, of New Woodstock, and Michael Collier and his wife, Julie, of Corning; two great-grandchildren, Madlyn and Carson Collier, of Corning; one sister, Eleanor Hunsdorfer, of Connecticut; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Weber was predeceased by her husband, Raymond C. Weber on Aug. 17, 2001. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., Auburn. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, in SS. Peter & John Episcopal Church, 169 Genesee St., Auburn. Interment will be in Owasco Rural Cemetery, Owasco, in the spring. Expressions of sympathy may be made to SS. Peter & John Episcopal Church, 169 Genesee St., Auburn, NY 13021; or to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13021, in memory of Mrs. Weber.
