Sue´s Magic Power was to bring Cadfael to our attention (if we hadn´t paid attention to him before knowing her) and bringing him to life. When I read or watch him, I know that Sue is in the room. Thank you forever.

Sue was and is my model of a Passionate Fan. She loved Cadfael and shared that passion with anyone. We are all lucky to have her in our hearts and in our memories.

I just found two issues of "Most Loving Mere Folly," and thought of Sue and her devotion and enthusiasm for Ellis Peters. I am about to write a blog post about how it was possible to become both an expert and a beloved member of a community before the internet. I know that Sue would have taking to blogging like a duck to water. I miss knowing that she is at a conference in her Cadfael gear.

I've just read about Sue's death on the web. I knew Sue through the HMAS and the magazine M:PT for which I wrote 'UK Dispatches' for several years. I came to greatly respect Sue and valued her advice and the support & enthusiasm she showed me as a new author. I was also tremendously impressed by her bravery in the face of illness. My sincere condolences to Larry and all her family.

I first 'met' Sue virtually when she was founding HMAS and impressed me with her knowledge and enthusiasm for a genre I love. She's impressed me even more since then as someone who exemplied courage in the classic Hemingway "grace under pressure" sense. A very classy and gutsy lady who will be very much missed. My sincere sympathies and sorrow over her passing.

I will miss Sue. I last receieved an e-mail from her about 3 weeks ago about an Ellis Peters/Edith Pargeter short story collection she and Martin Edwards were editing for Crippen & Landru. She was enthusiastic, knowledgable, and full of grace.

I was so saddened to hear this news. Sue was always so positive about everything, and this came too soon. Over the years we shared information on mysteries, religion, life and loves. She was so knowledgeable on so many subjects--and she reached out to everyone and supported them in their endeavors. Sue's death is a great loss to her family, friends, and the mystery community.
My sympathy goes out to you, Larry.

Sue was a spirited supporter of the historical mystery and a woman with a delightful view of the world. Though she has gone she will always be remembered in the mystery community.

I never saw her that she wasn't smiling, and never knew her to speak ill of another. She faced her ordeal with humor and courage and her passing diminishes the mystery community. Condolences to her family and many friends,

This is especially sad news. In 1998, I exchanged email with Sue shortly after Bouchercon Philadelphia. At the time, I was shepherding the MysteryVault site and she asked if I could archive her site offline. I knew she had been battling cancer and, being a cancer survivor myself, was more than happy to do so. When I learned of her passing, I went to her site and updated my offline archive of site files. So, should there come a time when it becomes difficult to maintain Sue's web presence, her online contributions and work will not be lost. My sincere condolences to her family and many friends in the mystery community.

I was just in touch with Sue a few weeks ago and she seemed as upbeat as ever, despite her illness. As Bill said elsewhere, she was one of the good guys and will be missed by all of us who knew her, in the mystery field or elsewhere.
