Martha Wallis Obituary

MARTHA LYNN WALLIS

February 5, 1940 – June 29, 2025

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Aunt, Martha Lynn Wallis, who was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on June 29, 2025.

She was born in Texas on February 5, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Francis Gray. She and Mother relocated to Bakersfield, California in 1959. She worked numerous jobs until she was hired at Golden Bear refinery as a bookkeeper and worked there for over 30 years until she retired. She then worked alongside Norman with the Miller Hay company.

Martha Lynn married the love of her life Norman Lee Wallis on July 1, 1978. They were married for 39 years at the time of his passing. There were many conversions with her and she would say how much she missed Norman and couldn't wait to be with him again. They have finally been reunited.

Martha Lynn is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding her in death are her husband Norman, parents and siblings Jerry, Dale, Wayne and Toostie. She was the last of the first generation that moved to California.

She was loved very much and will be missed. A memorial service will be held on July 18, 2025 at 10:00 am at Greenlawn Funeral Home – Northeast, 3700 River Boulevard, Bakersfield, CA. 93305. Reception to follow.
