Eva Schieffer Obituary

Eva M. Schieffer Battle Creek Eva M. Schieffer, 79, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was born April 19, 1929 in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of William Ernest and Golda Eva (Meyer) Drallmeier. On October 8, 1949 Eva married Julian "Joe" Schieffer in Rice Lake, Wisconsin and they moved to Battle Creek in 1956. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church and most recently attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Eva was active in all her children's activities, was a volunteer with the Zoo Boo and was involved with the Post Balloon Club. She is survived by her husband: Joe Schieffer of Battle Creek; four children: Darline (Duncan) Bailey and Diane (David) Eisen, both of Battle Creek, Tom (Natalie) Schieffer of Grand Rapids and Todd (Cheryl) Schieffer of Durango, Colorado; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister: Darline (Richard) Hardish of Battle Creek. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Louis and one sister: Geraldine. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Father Craig Lusk officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility or the Alzheimer's Association.

To the Schieffer Family....
We extend our sympathy to you at this time of sorrow. We enjoyed our time with Eva and Joe at our Young At Heart luncheons at St. Jerome Parish as I know they enjoyed being there with us each month. They are often talked about and hope the Lord will bring you peace and remember that your friends from St. Jerome will keep both Eva and Joe i our prayers....

Hi Aunt Diane, sorry to hear about your mom, I'm going to stay and watch Dru while my parents are at the funeral, I don't think she could hang very well at the funeral..But we will be thinking about you guys... Let us know if you need anything..
