Scott Geering Obituary

Scott Geering Vincent Scott Geering, 46, of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at his home. Scott was born June 27, 1962, in Battle Creek, the son of Charles J., Sr. and Nina J. (King). He was a 1980 graduate of Harper Creek High School. Scott was previously employed by Stan Lassen Pontiac and Cadillac and Syndicate Glass of Middlebury, IN for three years. Scott was last employed by Griswold Machine Engineering in Union City for 13 years. He retired in 2003 due to ill health. Scott enjoyed working on cars. He also enjoyed computers and television and was an avid "Star Trek" fan. Scott also loved his dog "Breezy." He was previously married to Debbie Hartman. Scott is survived by his children, Nathan and Nicole Geering of Shipshewana, IN and his granddaughter Stacy. His also survived by his mother and stepfather, Nina Geering-Irvin and Charles Irvin, both of Battle Creek; brothers, Ronald J. (Angel) Geering and Charles J. Geering Jr., both of Battle Creek; and his paternal grandmother, Verna Geering of Burr Oak. Scott was preceded by his father Charles J. Geering Sr. in 2001; paternal grandfather, Vincent Geering; and maternal grandparents, Luella and Luster King. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2008 at Royal Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice Care.
