Elizabeth H. "Betty" Krause

Elizabeth H. "Betty" Krause Battle Creek Elizabeth H. "Betty" Krause, age 85, of Battle Creek, died Friday evening, August 8, 2008, at Battle Creek Health Systems. Betty was born on May 31, 1923 in East Jordan, MI and was the daughter of Rex J. and Rita May (Green) Hickox. She was a graduate of East Jordan High School and attended Western Michigan University. Betty was a former Pennfield Township Treasurer and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek. She had assisted her husband, Carl, in his printing business, Printing Enterprises, and then, with a fishing lure manufacturing company, E-Z Action Products (both companies were located in Battle Creek). She enjoyed traveling up North to Lake Charlevoix and East Jordan to visit family and friends. On October 12, 1945, Betty was united in marriage to Carl G. Krause, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1985. Surviving are her daughter: Mary Krause-Akullian of Palo Alto, CA; her three sons: David G. (Cindy) Krause of Palo Alto, CA, Jonathan P. (Stephanie) Krause of Battle Creek and William L. (Georgia) Krause of Mount View, CA; seven grandchildren; and her brother: Dr. Leland (Pat) Hickox of Big Rapids, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents. At the request of the family, an open house to celebrate Betty's life will be held in the Parlor at the First Presbyterian Church 1:00 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2008.
