Charles Avery Obituary

Charles F. "Chuck" Avery Tulsa, OK Charles F. "Chuck" Avery, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2008, in Tulsa at the age of 72. He was born June 17, 1936, in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Noel and Dorothy Avery. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and in 2003, while working for Halliburton, he worked as a truck driver in Iraq and Kuwait. In addition, he was a Deputy Sheriff for the Penobscot (Maine) County Sheriff's Department and Security Guard at the Battle Creek Air National Guard Base. He married Ann Marie Perkins in December 1966, she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Kimna (Lewis) Banks of Tulsa; his son, Keenan (Lisa) Wright of Joliet, IL; two grandsons, Christopher Laird of Constantine, MI and Jeremy (Jenny) Laird of Tulsa; six brothers and one sister, Tom (Diane), Don (Betty), Dan (Steve), Steve (Pat) Leo and Nola (Rennie), all of Michigan, and Wink (Tona) of Florida; as well as his many "Karaoke" friends and family. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, Irving and Leo, and his special son, "Chuck-Chuck." Private family services and burial will occur at a later date in Sandy Point, Maine. Memorial donations may be made to Ann J. Kellogg School in Battle Creek.
