Berneita Kubasiak Obituary

Berneita M. Kubasiak Battle Creek Berneita M. Kubasiak, 91, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 at her home. She was born on May 12, 1917 in Battle Creek to Karl and Albertina (Blue) Asplin. Berneita graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1935. She married Peter P. Kubasiak on August 18, 1945 in Angola, IN; he preceded her in death in 1996. She was employed by the Michigan Carton and Container Credit Union as assistant manager for 25 years until retirement in 1978. Berneita is survived by sons, Gary L. (Judy) Kubasiak of Battle Creek, Chuck T. (Julie) Kubasiak of Bellevue, Gene A. (Maria) Kubasiak of Las Vegas, NV, John K. (Annie) Kubasiak of Ravenna, MI; daughter, Barbara A. (Dick) Willbrandt of Marshall; eighteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister Calloway. Berneita was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, needlepoint, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Joseph Xavier officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Good Samaritan Hospice.
