Coy Trisket Obituary

Coy M. Trisket Battle Creek Coy M. Trisket, 86, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Battle Creek Health System. He was born in Galesburg, MI on April 28, 1922 to Coy M. and Laura (Blake) Trisket. Coy graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1940. He worked at Eaton Mfg. for two years prior to entering military service in the United States Coast Guard, where he served in the Ninth and Third Naval Districts with two ships in the North Atlantic on patrol duty in the Newfoundland, Greenland and Iceland area. Returning from the service, he joined his father in the Trisket Realty Co. Coy served as President of the Battle Creek Board of Realtors and other offices in that Association. During the last 15 years prior to retirement in 1995, he was primarily in the Real Estate Appraisal service working for numerous lending institutions in Battle Creek, Marshall and others. He has held a Real Estate Brokers license for over 50 years and was awarded the Realtors Emeritus award for over 50 years of cumulative years of Membership in the National Association of Realtors in 2001. Coy M. Trisket was united in marriage to Rosalie I. Way of Bellevue on January 11, 1947. Surviving are Rosalie, his wife of 61 years; two daughters, Patricia A. "Pat" (Richard) Carpenter and Susan D. Lindauer, both of Battle Creek; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry L. and Bernard Richardson. Coy was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, past member of St. Vincent DePaul Society, past member of the Knights of Columbus, past board member of Goodwill industries and past member of Battle Creek Exchange Club. He was an active volunteer at NorthPointe Woods. Coy was an avid golfer and had been a former member of Marywood Country Club, Bedford Valley Country Club, Riverside Country Club and recently played with independent outside groups. He enjoyed following his grandchildren in their school and college activities and sports. At the request of the family, friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where they will be received 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and where the Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. A Memorial Mass will be officiated by the Rev. Charles H. Fischer at St. Philip Catholic Church 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008. Military honors and interment of cremains will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery for the family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society or the American Heart Association. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle. com.
