Gwendolyn Nendorf Obituary

Gwendolyn M. Nendorf Kalamazoo Gwen was born on January 10, 1920, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Edward and Kathryn (Koets) Bryer. She passed away at The Laurels of Galesburg on September 8, 2008. Gwen was an active person, who enjoyed walking, reading, old television shows, and the time she had to spend with her two grandsons as well as her nieces and their families. Gwen lived her last years with Rob and Faith in Battle Creek prior to moving with the family to Galesburg. During that time she enjoyed going to many soccer games and family gatherings. She held several jobs in her lifetime. She worked at Gilmore Brothers in the Millinery Department, then McCauls Printing with her lifelong friend, Mary McCaul. She worked at Neumode Hosiery downtown Kalamazoo and later at Gull Road Pharmacy for Jack and Sharon Robbins until she retired. She is survived by her sons, Richard Nendorf and Rob (Faith) Nendorf; two grandsons, Rob and Tim Nendorf; four nieces, DeeAnn Waltz, Ruth Ann Bryer, Geri (Lee) Stewart, Melanie (Pat) Dillon; three nephews, David (Ann) Bryer, Gerald (Pat) Kline, and Jerry Kline; a great-niece and nephew, Ari and Brett Stewart; two cousins, Norman Bryer and Ann (Wagner) Weinert; as well as several other grandnieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick, 343-2628, on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at 11 o'clock, with Pastor James Dyke officiating. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment in Riverside Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center.
