Larry Himes Obituary

Larry A. "Himey" Himes Battle Creek Larry A. "Himey" Himes, age 60, of Battle Creek, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. He was formerly of New Port, Michigan. He was a mechanic for Grand Trunk Railroad in Flat Rock and transferred to Battle Creek. He served in the United States Army. He is survived by his mother, Ruth LaFeve; two daughters, Annette Himes and Shawn Himes of Monroe, Michigan; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Loren, Ed, Terry, and Eddie Jr.; and two sisters, Sharon Vaughter and Denise Overholt. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph, and stepfather Edward LaFeve Sr. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the General George Custer Post #54, 1125 E. Columbia Avenue, Battle Creek with funeral services to follow. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22nd at the Chapel of the Doves, 32163 Huron River Drive, Flat Rock, Michigan. Burial at Michigan Memorial Cemetery with full Military Honors by the Carlton V.F.W. Post #4093. Memorials may be directed to the family.
