Linda L. Morris

Linda L. (Mantle) Morris Battle Creek Linda Loring (Mantle) Morris, 69, of Battle Creek, died September 20, 2008 at Battle Creek Health System. She was born January 5, 1939, the daughter of William H. and Vera L. (Nelson) Mantle in Battle Creek. Linda graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1957 and received a Bachelor's Degree from Western Michigan University. She taught elementary school in Battle Creek and Benton Harbor. Linda is survived by her sons, R. Scott (Jean Anne) Morris of Venice, Florida, Andrew M. (Amy) Morris of Venice, Florida and Kyle P. (Coni) Morris of Northport, Florida; grandson, Mace Morris of Northport, Florida; sister, Mary "Penny" (Carl) Peterson of Battle Creek; brother, Dr. William (Sally) Mantle of Fountain Hills, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. Linda enjoyed crossword puzzles, going to movies and the theatre, and considered herself a movie historian. She especially enjoyed spending time with her three sons and their families, her sister Penny, and dear friends Annie Bennett and Marion Shive. Family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. today at Shaw Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the funeral home.
