Jane R. Walmer

Jane R. Walmer Battle Creek Jane Ruth (Robinson) Walmer, 82, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2008 at Battle Creek Health System. She was born November 1, 1925 in Paris, TN, the daughter of Arthur Robinson and Grandy (Bucy) Robinson. Jane was a seamstress, doing alterations at the old J C Penney store downtown. She had also been a bartender at the VFW for about 8 years. She married Ralph D. Walmer on November 4, 1964 in Battle Creek, MI. She is survived by her husband: Ralph D. Walmer of Battle Creek; three stepsons: Frank and Rosemary Walmer of Olivet, MI, Jim and Gail Walmer of Delton, Ralph H. Walmer; a stepdaughter, Pat and Carl Hammons, both of Battle Creek; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Joan Gibson (1967); a brother - Louis Robinson; a sister - Sade Coyer; a stepson - Jack Walmer; and two grandsons: Jimmie Walmer and Terry Walmer. Jane came to Battle Creek as a young girl, had lived a short time in St. Joseph, MI on Goguac Lake and together with her husband had wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida for about twenty years. Jane enjoyed crocheting, was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed the sun, playing BINGO and loved to oil paint landscapes. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. A private family gathering will be held at a later date; however memorial contributions to the Eagles Lodge would be appreciated. Cremation has been conducted.
