Judith Burrill Obituary

Judith Ann (Hjortaas) Burrill Judith Ann (Hjortaas) Burrill, 63, died on July 5, 2008 in Siguatepeque, Honduras while visiting her daughter. Judith was born in Martinsburg, WV on March 20, 1945 to Lester and Ruth Hjortaas. She was raised in B.C. and attended Battle Creek Central High School where she graduated in 1963. She then began working for what is now known as Comerica Bank Incorporated and gave 33½years of service until her retirement in 1997. She was an avid bowler for many years and held many titles in the sport, including one of the highest awards given to women bowlers in B.C. After her retirement she dedicated her free time to various Lutheran church activities and to her grandchildren. She resided for a time in Lafayette, LA and Naples, FL and then went to visit her daughter and grandchildren in Honduras for a time where she passed away. Judith is survived by her daughter, Mandy, her son-in-law, Daniel Castaneda, and her grandchildren, Bailey, Riley, and Ethan of Honduras. She is also survived by her 2 brothers, Gordon (Shirley) of Naples, FL and Robert (Debbie) of Battle Creek, MI. Judith's body was laid to rest in San Juan Memorial Cemetery, Siguatepeque, Honduras. There will be a memorial service on October 1st at First Wesleyan Church in Battle Creek, MI from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

I am saddened by a loss too early...too young, too desirous of life. My very best friend for many years, I am memory bound, laughter-riddled, and extremely happy Judi was in my life. My condolences to her family, especially her beloved daughter.
