Anna Rathburn Obituary

Anna Rathburn Battle Creek Anna Rathburn, age 82, of Battle Creek, died Monday, September 22, 2008 at Battle Creek Health System. Anna was born on March 4, 1926 in Mineral Point, Wisconsin, the daughter of Arnold and Rosina (Schrapfer) Schmid. She had been an area resident for 65 years. In Charlotte, Michigan, on August 16, 1944, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Rathburn who survives. She was employed as a medical assistant for Dr. Kopelman from 1962 until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed knitting for Charitable Union, all kinds of crafts and being with her family and grandchildren. Also surviving are children, Robert M. Rathburn of Battle Creek, Richard L. (Sandy) Rathburn of Arizona, and Vickie L. (Ken) Bell of East Leroy; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Rosalie Helgeland and Lucille (Paul) Parks of Madison, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Warren Schmid and a stepfather, Pete Parks. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to Lifespan Hospice or a Charity of Choice. Arrangements by the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home.
