To Deb's family and friends,
You do not know me but I am a foster parent. I got the opportunity back in 2006 to meet Deb Slucter because she was the caseworker assigned to my foster daughter. She was such a pleasant person to work with. I can still hear the sound of her voice even though it has been 2 years since I have heard it. I am sad to hear of her passing and just wanted to share that. People often say that it takes a special person to be a foster parent and they are right about that...but my heroes, my everyday heroes are the cps workers, the foster care workers, the licensing workers and every team member involved in a foster child's life. Deb was one of my heroes. :)

Dear Slucter Family,
Your mom holds a very special place in my heart that I will continue to cherish.
I will always remember the Slucter Family as one who's foundation was filled with the love, understanding and wild antics of your mom. She was a woman who's joy for life was an adventure and became infectious to those who knew her.
May God continue to look over you and bless with wonderful "Deb" memories.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Hello Erin, Courtney and Kyle. We are so sorry to hear about Debbie. She was so lively. I remember when she used to come racing around the corner in her car, in Colonial Townhouses, blowing her horn; and you guys would run outside to greet her. Take care. Vera, Schreka and Ashlee McKinney.

Dear Kyle, Staci & Family!!!
Our family, like many others, are SO sorry to hear of your loss. We will ALL forever cherish the time and memories we shared just under two years ago when we celebrated the homecoming of our two heros. You could feel her excitement over your marriage and the possibility of grandchildren. How cute those little cowboy boots were that she bought!!!
I wish that we could be there, but, know that you're in our hearts and thoughts. Here's a SALUTE to a fantastic person, and TRUE Hero, who was taken to Heaven way before her time.
All our love to you and the entire Slucter family........

i am DEEPLY sadden at such a loss, Debbie is a fun, caring and refreshing person who kept it real. i enjoyed her prescense and her support of me and her son during Operation iraqi freedom 2005-6, she kept us stocked with NEEDED materials at times and gave me a diary(her son i mean) that i have and refer to till this day. She was the only person to greet me when i returned home from that 12 month deployment, even though she told me to take a shower cause i smell..i love her and will give her a GIANT hug in heaven

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I hired her as a caseworker in Ingham County back in the early 90's for the State of Michigan. I remember her laughter and smile and delightful stories of her Granny. She loved her children and did everything she could to provide. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers to you all.
