Mary Cripps Obituary

Mary Cripps Battle Creek Mary Cripps, 84, of Battle Creek, died at Select Specialty Hospital in Kalamazoo Monday, October 6, 2008. She was born in New York City, NY to Michael and Pauline (Romanosky) Kolada on April 24, 1924. Mary grew up in New York, where she graduated from high school. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Hanover Bank on Wall Street and at the former Security National Bank here in Battle Creek. Mary was united in marriage to Harold Cripps on June 15, 1946 in Battle Creek. Surviving are Harold, her husband of 62 years; two daughters, Dr. Cathy (Don Bachman) Cripps of Bozeman, MT, Cindra (Ogden) Kellogg of Gold Hill, OR; a son, Dr. Jeff Cripps of Diamondale; two step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; and three sisters, Alyce Antonchik, Sophia Horace and Nellie Pate, all of New York. Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Kulibaba and a brother, John Kolada. Mary was a member of the First Congregational Church. She volunteered in the former Leila Hospital Gift Shop for many years. She was devoted to her family. Services to celebrate Mary's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements will be announced by Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Y Family Center in Battle Creek. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. It is been so long since we have seen each other. I remember visiting you when you all lived on North 21st Street. Cindy it has been so long. If at all possible it would be nice to see you all. All our love, Joe and Jan Vogel (Connie's daughter)
