My heartfelt thoughts go out to Della, Rick and the whole family. Monday we lost a good father, friend and citizen. Often when someone dies we elevate them to sainthood. Charles needs no elevating. He was good to all of us and never asked for anything in return. I am comforted by the thought that he is reunited with Margaret, his son Denis and other loved ones who have gone before him. I will miss his deep voice, his slow deliberate walk and the sound of his pickup rounding the corner. He has been a wonderful father-in-law and I will never forget him. He was a second father to Chuck and Amy.
When we shed tears, it will be from selfishness because we have all lost a good friend and human being.

Deepest sympathy to the family for the loss of a wonderful man. Mr. Brown was a special person in my heart. Your family was my second family as Denis and I grew up. I will always remember life at the Brown's home.
