Charles Freds Obituary

Charles D. Freds Ellis Corners Charles D. Freds, 89, of Ellis Corners, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at his home in the loving care of his family. He worked at Eaton Corporation in Marshall for 39 years until retiring. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marguerite of Ellis Corners; three daughters: Sandy (Steve) Stratton of Elida, Ohio, Charlene (Mike) McCorriston of Caledonia, and Lynette (Jim) Todd of Ellis Corners; and two sons: Mike (Liz) Freds of Burlington, and Tom (Deb) Freds of Marshall. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a infant son, Dave Leroy, his parents, five brothers and two sisters. Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Friday from 2-9 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor John Gilley officiating. Committal services will follow at West Eckford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Home for Children in Eaton Rapids or to Life Span Hospice.
