Kathryn Bellas Obituary

Kathryn "Kathy" Bellas Battle Creek Kathryn "Kathy" Bellas, 79, of Battle Creek, died at Evergreen Manor Monday, October 20, 2008. She was born February 13, 1929 in Ford City, Pennsylvania, the daughter of John F. and Julia (Kudasik) Cippel. Kathy was a graduate of Ford City High School. She was an assistant to a legal council in Washington D.C. and to Harry Davidson, the former superintendent for the Battle Creek school system. Kathy married Edward P. Bellas on November 25, 1948 in Washington D.C. She was preceded in death by Edward, her husband of 55 years, on December 29, 2003. She is survived by her brother, Rev. John A. Cippel of St. Petersburg, FL. Kathy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a former member of the Junior League and through the years served as a volunteer on many community projects. She always enjoyed playing golf when she was able. At the request of the family, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Father John A. Cippel at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008. Interment of cremains will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com
