Vincent Beck Obituary

Vincent H. Beck Battle Creek Vincent H. Beck, 84, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at the Battle Creek Health System. He was born August 10, 1924 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Archie and Mary (Amstutz) Beck. Mr. Beck served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps during WWII, was a graduate of Michigan State University School of Engineering, and enjoyed working at his farm in Middleville. Prior to his retirement in 1983 he was the plant engineer at the Kellogg Company for many years. On November 2, 1946 he was married to Mary J. Morgan in Auburn, Indiana and she preceded him in death on May 12, 1995. Surviving are two sons: Kevin and Kipling Beck; daughter: Kathleen Beck and her husband, James Gallagher, all of Battle Creek, and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Irving Cemetery in Middleville at 2:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Humane Society or The American Cancer Society.
