Gladys Dunn Obituary

Gladys I. Dunn Springfield Gladys I. Dunn, 89, of Springfield formerly of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Care Community in Springfield. She was born December 17, 1919 in Jackson, MI the daughter of Glenn and Mildred (Runchey) Van Patten. She married Ray Gardner Dunn on November 23, 1938 in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death on November 29, 1978. Gladys graduated from Marshall High School. She was a homemaker and mother all of her life, until the past 2 years when she was a resident of Care Community with her daughter. Gladys enjoyed cooking and canning, camping, traveling and being surrounded by her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Betty Jean Dunn of Battle Creek, Gerald (Natalie) Dunn of Olivet, Steven (Pam) Dunn of Vermontville, Michael (Vickie) Dunn of Ceresco; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sisters, Hazel Hendrickson and Helen Barr. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Earl Dunn; brother, Robert Van Patten, sisters, Loretta Crane, Gertrude Wyrick, Wilma Van Patten, Vida Bales. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Rev. Lester DeGroot officiating. Burial will be in Banfield Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to Nashville Baptist Church or American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, a member by invitation Selected Independent Funeral Homes. (269)965-5145

Dearest Dunn Family,
So sorry to hear of Gladys passing she was a great lady I truly enjoyed her the short time I was in the family she also lived in a time of history that we only read about in history books today. I understand your lose for we just layed my father-in-law to rest on jan 16th .So from Joshua, Sabrina and family and from my family we wish you all our prayers for your loss.
