Dorothy Rocho Obituary

Dorothy L. Rocho Battle Creek Dorothy L. Rocho, 96, of Battle Creek died peacefully on Monday morning, January 26, 2009. She was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on February 21, 1912 the daughter of Roy and Ethel (Kline) Bailey. Dorothy worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Forester's Dentistry for many years and also served for many years at Bailey's Jewelers, McCoy's Jewelers and Pearlman's Jewelers. Dorothy married Hilton C. Rocho in Battle Creek in August of 1931; he preceded her in death on March 2, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Herman and 3 sisters, Florence, Ann and Josephine Palmer. Dorothy is survived by her son, James (Roberta) Rocho of Battle Creek; a brother-in-law, Charles Palmer of Clearwater, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was very "outgoing" and loved people. She enjoyed assisting her husband with his many building projects, playing "Bridge" and spending time with her family. At the request of the family, they will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband, Hilton at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Battle Creek Area History Museum-Project Fund, c/o The Battle Creek Community Foundation.
