James A. Leggitt

James A. Leggitt Homer James A. Leggitt, 57, of Homer, passed away Friday, February 6, 2009 at his home. He was born March 10, 1951 in Battle Creek to James Alfred and Irene (Aliston) Leggitt. James married Katrina Snellenberger on August 13, 1988; she survives him. He owned and operated Homer Radiator in Homer since 1986 and previously owned J&J and Sons Welding in Athens. He also had a dairy farm in Athens. James served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. James was a member of the V.F.W. and Masonic Lodge in Athens. He also was a member of the Wednesday Night Golf League at Whiffletree Golf Course in Concord. James enjoyed golfing, cutting wood, being out of doors and playing with his toys. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He is survived by: Wife, Tina Leggitt; (3) Daughters, Kimberly (Chris) Laird of Homer, Kelly Leggitt of Battle Creek, Tonya (Robert) Rhinard of Homer; (4) Sons, Jimmy (Terry) Leggitt of Battle Creek, Kenneth Leggitt of North Carolina, Jimbo (Courtney) Jones of Homer, Curt Rogers of Homer; Mother, Irene Leggitt of Athens; (2) Sisters, Linda (Fred) Farley of Northern MI, Ardith (John) Smith of Athens; (1) Brother, Ronald (Peggy) Leggitt of Burlington; (15) Grandchildren; and several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, James Alfred Leggitt and 2 brothers, Robert and Danny. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI with Pastor Walt Nichols officiating. Interment will be at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek. Visitation will be Monday, February 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Homer Area Community Foundation.
