Russell Bignell Obituary

Russell L. Bignell West Carrollton, OH Russell L. Bignell, age 80, of West Carrollton, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Life Care Hospital. Russell retired from the United States Air Force as a Tech Sergeant in 1970 having served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He also retired from DESC after 20 years of service. Russell is survived by his wife of 27 years, Virginia Bignell; sons, Pastor Alan Brent (Cherie) Bignell of Battle Creek, MI and their children, Allison, Emily, and great-granddaughter, Aubree, Russell L. Bignell, II of Fairborn, OH and Randall C. (Melissa Wiles) Bignell of Chambersburg, PA and their children, Ashley and Joshua; stepson, Albert (Paula) Morrie of Troy, OH; stepdaughter, Valerie (Dale) Burton of Bellbrook, OH; and stepson, John Edward (Mary) Garrett of Beaverton, OR and their children, Katy, Tara and great-grandson, Jack Garrett. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering with Pastor Alan Bignell of Restoration Life Church officiating. Burial in Miami Valley Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Miami Valley Hospital Foundation, 1 Wyoming St., Dayton, OH 45409. Condolences and other remembrances may be sent to the family at www.routsong.com
