They were married January 8, 1952. Arthur and Velma enjoyed many happy years together, raising their family, traveling the world, and dancing their way through life. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1977 in Battle Creek. Velma retired from Mueller Color Plate as a purchasing agent in the early 1980s after 10 years of service. She practiced this belief everyday of her life through her travels to any place that caught her interest, collection of many unique and fanciful items, volunteerism of any group that needed help, her ability to find any excuse to eat out, and her hobby of driving with no particular place to go. We are very sorry for the loss of aunt Velma. I just spoke with my grandpa about her and how wonderful and supportive she was to him throughout the years and how she will be greatly missed by all. I don't remember ever having the chance to meet her, but reading about her and all she was involved in makes me sad that I was not able to experience the joy she brought to the world. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We just read Aunt Velma's obituary and it is beautiful.

I remember when she and Mom got lost one night when they took the wrong turn in Pueblo West. As there are no street lights in PW, they had no idea where they were, but traveled on and on until they finally found their way back to town. I think several hours had passed before they did. We laughed about this often and it came to mind when I read the part about her traveling with no particular place to go.

May God Bless all of you at this sad time and may you find comfort knowing that your Mother has finally found her eternal place of peace.
