F. Yeo Obituary

F. Ronald Yeo Kalamazoo F. Ronald Yeo, 94, of Kalamazoo, formerly of Battle Creek, died Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Directors Hall. He was born on October 19, 1914 in London, England to Frank R. and Minnie (Manser) Yeo. Ronald served in the U.S. Army during WWII and the Army Reserves as a Lt. Colonel until October 19, 1974. He was owner of Carpets Inc. in Kalamazoo until he sold the business in 1980. Ronald married Reba Crothers in 1942, she preceded him in death in 1978. He then married Dorothy VanSweden in 1980, she survives. Also surviving are sons, Ronald L. Yeo and Randall R. Yeo, both of Battle Creek; stepchildren, Cheryl (Paul) Terpstra, James (Linda) VanSweden, and Judith (Michael) Salada, all of Kalamazoo; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was a member of Retired Officers Association, Washington, D.C. and the First Congregational Church in Battle Creek. Ronald was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #480 in East Lansing and Saladin Temple in Grand Rapids. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday March 3, 2009 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 1 hour before service. A private family committal service will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of SW Michigan or charity of one's choice.
