Marlene was such a great person, friend, and guardian angel for my father, a next door neighbor. Mill Lake won't be the same without her. The cats, birds, and fish will miss her also. She so enjoyed nature. Such a big heart will be missed by everyone.

It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of Marla. The sun just doesn't seem quite as bright anymore.

Marla and I met back in 1988, when I started working with her at the VA in Battle Creek in Psychiary's Substance Abuse unit. From there, we build a long friendship. Over the years we went shopping, bowled together, talked about what we did the night before or the events of the weekend. Shared funny jokes, hugs, tears and laughs. Jim and Marla spent their lives building and remodeling their home to make it a place of comfort, warmth and beauty for all whom came to stay or just visit. I will miss everything she was and poured into others. She was truly a special friend and I will miss her.
