Robert Newmeyer Obituary

Robert H. Newmeyer Ann Arbor Robert H. Newmeyer, of Ann Arbor, age 82, passed away March 31, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd S. and Vesta Mae (Shafer) Newmeyer; wives, Patricia and Alice; son, David H. Newmeyer; sister, Joan Rudy; and nephew, Tom Nofzinger. He is survived by sons Andrew (Lora) Newmeyer of Pinckney, R. Kyle (Maggie) Newmeyer of Ann Arbor; daughter, Meegan (Jim) Warbritton of Grass Lake; daughter-in-law, JoAnn (Newmeyer) Pham of Troy; grandchildren, Annaliese and Kate Newmeyer, Jessica (Craig) Lowery, Allison Newmeyer and fiance Stewart Hicks, Alan and Michael Newmeyer, Austin Walz, Jamie, Jill, Benjamin, and Annie Warbritton; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sophia Lowery; sister, Phyllis (Dr. John) Nofzinger; brother, Jack (Carolyn) Newmeyer; brother-in-law, Wayne Rudy; and several nieces and nephews. Bob retired after 20 years of service as an OSHA Inspector for the state of Michigan, a career he took great pride in and which he received much respect for by his peers. Bob had many hobbies and interests, including traveling throughout the United States. He enjoyed sailing and became an accomplished sailor. In his later years, Bob became a member of the men's choir in his church, which brought him much enjoyment. Bob's greatest legacy is his family, who were raised by Patricia and him to honor and cherish their families. A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at Sherwood Funeral Home, Grass Lake with the Rev. Chuck McNeil officiating.
