Ellen Sweeney Obituary

Ellen S. Sweeney Concord Ellen S. Sweeney, age 80, of Concord, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Drews Place Assisted Living of Hillsdale. She was born September 19, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Elith and Elsie (Barnes) Troedson. On June 19, 1948 she married Arthur J. Sweeney who preceded her in death on April 5, 2006. Ellen was a homemaker and worked at Scott Tuthill Jewelry Store in Albion for several years. She also had worked at Hemmingson Pharmacy. She was a member of the 60's Club and the Albion Elks and Moose Auxiliary. Ellen enjoyed knitting, handcrafts, golf, bingo and spending winters in Florida. Survivors include daughter and best friend, Linda (Mike) Lovitt of Concord; son, Doug (Paula) Sweeney of Concord; four grandchildren, Bridgett (Rodney) Ley, Scott Sweeney, Ashley (Joseph) Meeks and Cole Lovitt and his fiancée Megan, from Megan: " Until we meet again, save my spot on the dance floor"; great-grandchild, Adam Ley; and special friends, Evelyn Wolf of North Fort Meyers, FL, and Mary Jean Baker of Marshall. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur; sister, Marge Wydenodorf; and brother, Theodore Troedson. Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion. Burial will follow at Albion Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
