Michael Woods Obituary

Michael L. Woods Marshall Michael L. Woods, 50, of Marshall passed away, April 9, 2009 in Kentucky. He was born January 25, 1959 in Hyden, Kentucky to Sherman and Shelby (Feltner) Woods. He married Janet M. Camp on May 17, 1989 in Marshall. He was a lifetime resident of the Marshall and Tekonsha area. He was the owner of Dixie Choppers, the manager of Shelby's Lounge, both are located in Tekonsha, and he had worked at Trim Parts in Marshall. Michael is survived by his wife, Janet; his children, Stacy (Eric) Phelps, Cortney Woods, Benjamin Johnson, all of Tekonsha, Jessica Johnson of Chicago; special granddaughters, Alexis, Autumn, Aislynn, Ambrielle "Gracie"; his mother, Shelby Feltner Sadger of Tekonsha; father, Sherman Woods of Hyden, KY; 2 sisters, Barb (Alfred) Marshall, Mary Davis; 1 brother, Bud (Patti) Woods, all of Tekonsha. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and shooting trap, and he was an avid Harley rider. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Putnam's of Tekonsha. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Tekonsha with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Putnam's of Tekonsha with Pastor Kim Wilcox officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Tekonsha Alumni Scholarship Fund. You may leave an online tribute by visiting www.putnamfuneralhome.com. To the family of Mike Woods,
So very sorry to hear of Mike's untimely passing. I remember him as a sweet and wonderful classmate at Tekonsha. I also remember playing cards with him after we graduated, and his laugh and smile were contagious. May you remember the good times, the laughter and the love of this wonderful man.
